The preparation for the huge project of creating an interactive Monaco 3D model of the entire Principality of Monaco has just begun. Despite being the second smallest country in the world (the Vatican in Rome being the smallest), Monaco will be home for the few days. Getting straight down to work, and ignoring the casino and yacht-lined harbour, we have taken the first steps in exploring and capturing the Principality’s topography by using aerial footage videos, 360 panoramas, aerial drone exploration and simple organometallic experience. Which will be used in creation of Augmented Reality App for Monaco Tower project.
Detailed preparation and analysis is vital in all architectural presentation projects, in order to gather sufficient context information. What better way to achieve a large scale site survey than with a bird’s eye view?
Aerial surveys enable us to correctly 3D map the relevant areas with detailed heights, topography and density. The survey allows us to create unique aerial views for use in the animations, and a true scale fully interactive 3D model of the region.
